Notice Details

Issues

The Gazette is published weekly on a Thursday and is available for two weeks from published date. You can choose to view the current issue or the last two issues. Some employment opportunities will have a closing date for applications that is longer or shorter than two weeks from publication. To ensure you are seeing all employment opportunities select 'all open job opportunities'.

Notice type

Employment Opportunities for ongoing employment and non ongoing employment in the Australian Public Service (APS) are advertised on APSjobs. Most opportunities are open to all members of the community who meet the requirements set out in the advertisement. In general, a person employed in the APS must be an Australian citizen, but there are exceptions to this rule. Agencies may also restrict access to some opportunities on the grounds of cost and operational efficiency.

Region

Select a state or territory.

Annual salary range

The meaning of the recorded salary for a job may vary between departments/agencies and classification types. For some jobs, the recorded amount is the total remuneration figure. In most cases the recorded job salary does not include superannuation and other employee benefits.

All salary figures are specified in Australian Dollars ($AU).  The salary rate should be in number format only without commas e.g. 50000

Keywords

Keywords can narrow your search results, helping you to find the right job. Keywords can be particularly useful if you are searching for a job title, a job that requires specific experience, or a job in a particular location.

One word  - Searching for a keyword of management would list all positions that include this word.
More than one word  - Searching for the keywords project management would list all the positions that include the words project or management. These words would not necessarily appear together in the ad details.
Capitalisation - Public Service Gazette searches are not case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood. For example, searches for Project Management, project management or PrOJeCt ManAGemeNT will all return the same results.

Specified Term - For a period of time not exceeding 18 months in the first instance, but may be extended to 3 years
Specified Task - For a particular one-off occurrence, not part of the department agencies normal workload
Irregular/Intermittent - for duties that need to be performed from time to time but where the occasions when those duties will need to be done will not be at regular intervals, or will not be continuous.

Identified Indigenous positions only

Employment opportunities are identified where Indigenous jobseekers are encouraged to apply for these positions, as part or all of the duties impact on Indigenous Australian people and/or involve interaction with Indigenous Australian communities or their representatives.
