To add your details to or search the Ready Now database, you must be logged in. Please Login now or Register a new account if you do not have one.

About Ready Now

The Australian Public Service wants to retain the valuable skills and corporate knowledge of its workforce. Ready Now is a temporary employment register specifically for former employees of the Australian Public Service.

Ready Now is only for non-ongoing opportunities of less than 12 months.

If you are interested in ongoing or longer term positions in the APS click on Find Jobs.

Anyone with an AGS number can join and you may start your registration at any time. Try it now; you can always come back to it later if you find you do not have all the information available.

Agencies can use the Ready Now database to help identify potential candidates to fill short-term non-ongoing positions that have a specific need for APS related skills.

Agencies are responsible for deciding which selection method to use when filling roles with candidates from the Ready Now register.

Referee details are not required when registering on Ready Now, though job seekers should expect that agencies will ask for them.

Using Ready Now is easy for both job seekers and agency users.

Job Seekers, once logged in, follow a simple five-step process to enter their details including qualifications, experience, skills and work preferences.

Agency Users, search the database using criteria that include security clearance, classification level, job categories, keywords and your work preferences. Candidates matching the search criteria will be listed along with a summary of their details.

Each summary is linked to the candidate's full resume which the agency user can assess to determine suitability for the role. It is the agency's responsibility to contact the job seekers and complete any pre-employment checks and other employment arrangements. Agencies need to ensure that all employment decisions are consistent with the legislative framework.
